Towers
By Philip James Dodd
Analysis In this composition by Philip James Dodd portray's a impression of loss and casualty. In the physical part of this painting, the towers are placed in the dusty sky, piles of debris whose destruction echos. The artist combined the sense of vanishment felt that appalling day, with immediate weakness as well. The America's flag located at the tower's base is mangled, withered, represents a piece of America's consciousness completely and recently dead. Dodd, by painting the flag curved up, is characterized to acknowledge the people lost as well. When looking scrupulously at this composition, it clearly shows the number eleven formed by the two towers and the number nine build by the scarred flag.
