Eyes on New York
By Tony Trigg
Analysis This piece of art by Tony Trigg displays the profound connection people have to New York City and captures the reaction of shock, sorrow and anger by illustrating perfectly the mood of 9/11. In the air there is smoke, which forms depressed and upsetting faces that symbolize people who lost their life or loved ones in the atrocious attack. Trigg paints their souls rising slowly towards the heavens with the smoke, also eyes seeking between the buildings, which are the eyes the terrorist who thought of this awful act and are still staring and searching to produce more harm. The faces are painted close together characterizing that people are connected to each other, they all have a common emotional reaction to the death of innocent people.
